Large-Gathering Activities on the Quad
Large-gathering activities such as a family-outfit event during a home football game are permitted on the Quad. If the event is to include a barbeque pit or the arrival of catering vehicles, it is the responsibility of the outfit to acquire the proper permit granting access onto the Quad.
RESTRICTIONS DURING HIGH VOLUME TRAFFIC ON THE QUAD
During high volume traffic (as in the case of, but not limited to, fall semester move-in and spring semester move-out), a large-gathering activity only increases the risk of a pedestrian-knock-down on the Quad. As such, Corps Housing will limit or restrict large-gathering activities (planned or unplanned).
Specifically, large-gathering activities will be restricted to the following locations in the vicinity of the Quad:
- The grass area closest to Coke Street north of Lounge B and west of Dorm 2 (Kiest Hall).
- The grass area closest to Coke Street in the direct vicinity north of Dorm 6 (Lacy Hall) and west of Dorm 4 (Fountain Hall).
- The grass picnic area east of Dorm 9 (Whiteley Hall).
- The grass picnic area west of Dorm 10 (White Hall).
These locations are first come-first serve. Other than the locations identified above, all large-gathering activities should take place off of and away from the Quad during high volume traffic. Locations such as Spence Park and Duncan Field should be considered for use during high volume traffic dates.
