Spring 2010 Return Information
- The Corps dormitories will officially open at 8:00am on Thursday, January 14, 2010
- With the exception of special groups as noted below, cadets will not be permitted to return prior to 8:00am on Thursday, January 14, 2010
- Corps Housing will resume business hours beginning at 8:00am on Monday, January 4, 2010
- Quad access WILL NOT be available due to Spring Orientation Week activities
- Special Units:
- Early return of special units (e.g., Rangers, Ross Volunteers, etc.) must be authorized by the special unit's advisor
- The advisor must send the information (including names and UINs) to Corps Housing no later than 12:00pm on Monday, December 7, 2009
- The special unit's return date will be based on the information provided to Corps Housing by the special unit advisor
- Early return of special units (e.g., Rangers, Ross Volunteers, etc.) must be authorized by the special unit's advisor
- Cadets as University Employees:
- Only cadets who are employed by Texas A&M University and/or the Texas A&M University System will be permitted to return early at the request of their University/System employer
- The employer's request must appear on official department letterhead and submitted to Corps Housing no later than 12:00pm on Monday, December 7, 2009
- The earliest a cadet employed by the University/System can return is 8:00am on Monday, January 4, 2010
- Only cadets who are employed by Texas A&M University and/or the Texas A&M University System will be permitted to return early at the request of their University/System employer
- Cadets with Academic Circumstances:
- A cadet with academic circumstances requiring early return to campus must provide documentation to Corps Housing
- This documentation must be from the cadet's department major academic advisor or from the professor requiring the cadet's early return. The documentation must be on official department letterhead and submitted to Corps Housing immediately.
- A cadet with academic circumstances requiring early return to campus must provide documentation to Corps Housing
- “Mini-Mester” Cadets:
- Cadets enrolled in a TAMU “mini-mester” course must submit a letter from their department major academic advisor or from the course instructor
- The letter must be on official department letterhead and submitted to Corps Housing no later than 12:00pm on Monday, December 7, 2009. Cadets enrolled in a TAMU “mini-mester” will not be able to access their dormitory until 8:00am on Monday, January 4, 2010
- Cadets enrolled in a TAMU “mini-mester” course must submit a letter from their department major academic advisor or from the course instructor
- All cadets approved for early return are subject to all policies, procedures, rules and regulations set forth in The Standard, the Cadet Resident Handbook, and Texas A&M University Rules and Regulations. The visitation policy will be enforced despite the fact that school is not in session at the time of return
- When you return in January, you must check in with your Commander/Housing Officer
NOTE FOR CADETS NOT RETURNING FOR THE SPRING SEMESTER
- Cadets who are not returning for the spring semester need to cancel their housing contract with Corps Housing in writing. The cancellation letter can be sent to: Corps Housing, Corps Lounge A, 1474 TAMU, College Station, TX 77843-1474.
- The cancellation letter can also be faxed to Corps Housing at (979) 845-9167.
- Simply telling Corps Housing staff or the Fiscal Office that you are not returning will not cancel your housing contract. Refer to the Corps Housing contract for specific deposit forfeiture and room charges (an additional charge equal to 50% of the spring semester's room rent) associated with cancelling your contract.
- You must return between January 4-8, 2010 during business hours to begin the Corps resignation process and remove all personal belongings from the dormitory.
- You must completely check-out of your room with your Housing Office Representative or a Corps Housing staff member prior to departure.
